HOUSTON, Texas (September 22, 2003) - Today, Houston Mayor Lee P. Brown and National Football League senior vice president Jim Steeg participated in a walking tour of the nearly completed expansion project at the south end of the George R. Brown Convention Center. When the $165 million job is finished in late October, the building's exhibit and meeting space will nearly double. The National Football League plans to use the convention center to house the NFL Experience, a fan festival expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors for 10 days leading to the big game. In addition, the George R. Brown Convention Center will be the site of the Super Bowl media center.

Steeg, Mayor Brown, Ullrich and GRBCC general manager Luther Villagomez pause after reaching the ground-floor exhibition hall, completing the tour.
