director of the George R. Brown Convention Center,
and Luther Villagomez, general manager of the facility,
stand next to the quilt "Power of Houston",
a permanent gift to the City of Houston bestowed
by the International Quilt festival to mark its
30th anniversary. Measuring nearly 9 feet by 6 feet,
the quilt is on display adjacent to the new visitors
