George R. Brown Convention Center wins Inner Circle Award

HOUSTON, Texas (October 30, 2002) - For the third year in a row, the George R. Brown Convention Center has received a 2001 Inner Circle Award for overall facility excellence as judged by readers of Association Meetings, an important industry watchdog.

"To win an Inner Circle Award at a time when construction is taking place all around the building is a tremendous tribute to our people," said GRBCC director Dawn Ullrich. "I salute general manager Luther Villagomez and his staff for taking good care of our customers."

The GRBCC is currently in the middle of a $165 million expansion project that will nearly double the amount of exhibit space in the facility. Work is expected to be complete in November 2003.
